BIA disagrees with increase of minimum social security income

Photo: library

The Bulgarian Industrial Association has opposed the intentions for administrative increase of the minimum social security income, installments and the minimum working wage. The employers say that such measures for restriction of the chronic deficit in the systems of the social and healthcare insurance should be taken barely after the assessment of the effects from those. According to their estimations the new minimum wage of EUR 200 offered exceeds significantly the 60 percent threshold on the average working wage in most administrative areas, while for many municipalities with low levels of employment and payment it reaches 80 percent. The fact that in most EU member-states this ratio doesn’t exceed 43 – 45 percent is given as an example.
