The Bulgarian Sport Foundation and the Bulgarian Olympic Committee have announced the winners of the Sports Icarus 2014 Awards. Grigor Dimitrov will take "Icarus" for "Achievement of the Year" for his entry in the top 10 world rankings and after reaching the semi-final of "Wimbledon" and quarterfinals of the Australian Open. The prize for "impressive performance" will go to Boyan Petrov - the first Bulgarian mountaineer who climbed three eight-thousanders for a year. Alexandra Zhekova will be honored for the fifth place at the Olympic Games in Sochi in border cross, while Alexander Kostadinov will receive an award for his European title in Greco-Roman wrestling. Ivan Markov - European and world weightlifting champion, world boxing champion Stanimira Petrova and badminton athlete Gergana Baramova will also receive awards. The award for "champion’s longevity" this year goes to Stanka Zlateva. "Icarus" for "Team of the Year" will go to the national artistic gymnastics team.
