U.S. supports Bulgarian efforts in energy security

Within the working group for strategic dialogue with the U.S., Bulgarian Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova has met with Melanie Kenderdine - Director of the Office of Energy Policy and Systems Analysis at the U.S. Department of Energy and Energy Counselor to the Secretary. During the meeting Petkova presented the main steps of the Bulgarian Government aimed at ensuring energy security in the country - working on the construction of interconnectors with neighboring countries, and launching procedures for exploration of the Silistar and Theres blocks in the Black Sea. We understand the importance of energy security for your country and the European Union as a whole, and we have been actively working on the issue, said Melanie Kenderdine.
