Pironkova wins, Grigor plays out

Tsvetana Pironkova qualified for the second round of the tennis tournament on grass courts in Birmingham (UK). The Bulgarian defeated 16-year old Katie Swan, in two sets – 6:2, 6:2. The game, which took little more than an hour, was the first match the two played in the professionals’ league. Pironkova is next to play against Angelique Kerber, Germany, for a place in the third round.

The match between Grigor Dimitrov and Sam Querrey, USA from the first round in the Queen’s Club Campionship will be completed this afternoon. It was interrupted, Monday evening, as the two were the last play in the central court and darkness fell when the result was still only 1:1 sets. Bulgaria’s top rocket lost the first set with 4:6 and won in the second with 6:3.
