Bulgarian Minister of Justice Hristo Ivanov announced that it is possible for the reached political consensus for changes in the Constitution to undergo certain twists, before these changes become a fact. According to him in order to put these changes in the Judicial Rule Act through, they should be ensured through constitutional changes. The stand of the Venetian Commission is expected as it is to apply very clear international standards, and that in turn will influence the medium in which the Constitutional Court is to make decisions. “When considering the changes in the Constitution, we should always view them as the plate of the cake or the base of a house. In any way, they are only part of the construction which we are to build in order to meet the recommendation of the European Commission for re-organization of the Supreme Judicial Council, so that in its next format it would deserve public trust”, Minister Ivanov said for the BNR.
