Bulgarian Orthodox Church demands Parliament to consider its stand in discussing laws

The Bulgarian Christian Orthodox Church wants Parliament to seek its opinion when discussing laws concerning life, morality, education, cultural heritage, the health and social status of the clergy, the status of religions, taxes and property law matters. In a letter to Bulgarian Patriarch Neophyte, National Assembly Chair Tsetska Tsacheva voiced her regret that the established practice of exchanging opinions between the law-making institution and the Holy Synod has in latter years been neglected. Mrs. Tsacheva hopes, however, that this tradition would not be interrupted.
