Commissioner for human rights with the Council of Europe Nils Muiznieks (Latvia) criticized the plans of Bulgaria and Hungary to send military along the borders to prevent immigrants entering the territory of their countries. According to the commissioner the militarization is the wrong answer to migration and a European answer should be made urgently, to guarantee asylum and humanitarian conditions for accommodation. Similar criticism was heard on the part of Serbian Minister of Social Affairs Alexander Vulin, who commented that the use of military is not a good move and that Bulgaria, as a member of the EU could seek for a common solution to the refugee issue that could cover Serbia as well.
