The US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland paid an official visit to Bulgaria. In conversations with Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov and President Rossen Plevneliev Victoria Nuland expressed satisfaction with the partnership between the USA and Bulgaria and the successful work of the bilateral working groups for development of strategic dialogue in the security field, the energy diversification field, the law supremacy and the cultural relations. Within the context of the security threats and the international efforts aimed at dealing with the refugee crisis Victoria Nuland and her Bulgarian hosts discussed topics regarding cooperation in the defense field and evaluated highly the good interaction between the law-enforcement bodies in the fight against terrorism. The development of trade and economic ties, including the US investments to Bulgaria, was outlined as key priority in the bilateral relations between both countries.
