Eastern European leaders are expected to offer to cooperate with people and other resources in order to help Macedonia seal its border with Greece and limit the influx of migrants from Greek territory, Reuters reports.
It is expected that the leaders of Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia (countries known as the Visegrad group) would voice this step at their meeting in Prague on Monday. It will also be attended by Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov.
Yesterday the EU informed Athens that its failure to control the hundreds of thousands of refugees arriving via Turkey may lead to long-term cancellation of the possibility of free movement in Europe.
In addition, senior EU officials said they expect serious tightening of the borders by Greece's neighbors in the Balkans.
