Topalov fails to defend Stavanger chess title

Bulgarian chess grandmaster Veselin Topalov ended in a draw his game against Vladimir Kramnik of Russia during the 9th final round of the super chess tournament in Stavanger, Norway. Topalov with the white pieces conceded to a draw at the 60th move versus his longtime rival Ktamnik. In this way Topalov who won the Stavanger tournament last year has finished 5th this year, with 5 points. The winner in the tournament is Norway’s Magnus Carlsen with 6 points.
