The Fourth Golden Linden International Film Festival of New European Cinema opened in Stara Zagora last night. The Lifetime Achievement Award was given to leading Bulgarian actress Tatiana Lolova. Nine films will compete in the competition, and 37 other works of cinema from 17 European countries will be screened during the five-day forum. Highlights include films from Norway, Denmark and Poland. Bulgarian cinema is also strongly present. The jury’s chairman is Bulgarian filmmaker Kostadin Bonev. The festival opened with the Polish film Warsaw by Night directed by Natalia Koryncka-Gruz.
