President Plevneliev opens consultations with parliamentary groups

In compliance with the constitutional powers of the Bulgarian head of state, President Rosen Plevneliev opens consultations with the parliamentary groups in the 43rd National Assembly after the resignation of the government of PM Boyko Borissov has been accepted. Tomorrow Plevneliev will hold the first consultations with representatives of the parliamentary group of Gerb. After closing the round of consultations the president will go on with the next constitutional procedure – giving exploratory mandates for to form a government. According to the Constitution the first mandate is given to the largest parliamentary group (in this case Gerb), the second to the second largest (BSP) and the third – as per the choice of the head of state.
