53 illegal migrants nabbed at Danube Bridge

A total of 53 illegal migrants have been busted by the police at the Danube Bridge in Ruse, Bulgaria while trying to cross secretly the border with Romania, BGNES reports. The group was found on Friday, but the information has been reported today.

The truck with Bulgarian registration was stopped for inspection by border police officers. The two drivers were Bulgarians as well. 22 men, 13 women and 18 children, aged 3 – 6 were found inside. The migrants came from Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan, most of them having escaped from the accommodation center in Harmanli. They were en route to Netherlands.
