Macedonian Deputy PM Bujar Osmani has said as quoted by MIA agency that Macedonia has support from EU and it is time to begin implementing urgent reforms so as to acquire an unconditional recommendation by the end of this year, and next year a fixed date for opening EU accession talks. The fact that Bulgaria will be holding the EU presidency during this period is “favorable”, the Deputy PM has said. Starting next year in three 6-month cycles, the EU will be presided by countries from the region – first by Bulgaria and then by Austria and Romania which would provide a historical context and a positive political climate for Macedonia, Bujar Osman has said.
