The border at Kadu Boaz pass, close to Salash village near Belogradchik on the Bulgarian side and Novo Korito village on the Serbian side, is officially being opened with a ceremony today for the traditional international fair organized there. The fair begins with the official border opening ceremony and a football match between the teams of Belogradchik, Bulgaria and Knyazhevats, Serbia.

There will be a concert by groups from Bulgaria and Serbia, says Salash village mayor Rumyana Alexieva and adds:

“There will be folklore groups, children's groups, there will also be a dance ensemble. The fair is a place where friends and relatives living on either side of the border can get together. We meet friends from Novo Korito, Knyazhevats, but they too have friends here, in Bulgaria they can get together with.”

The fair continues tomorrow. The border will be closed at 11 PM.
