Archeologists have unearthed two major architectural complexes near Kermen in the Sliven region, Southeastern Bulgaria. The leader of excavations Assoc. Prof. Hristo Popov from the National Archeological Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences has reported about a three-nave basilica with a baptistery and a Roman era villa. The villa is close to the basilica; has a 0.8 hectare yard, representative living premises, many rooms, and various farming buildings on its periphery. Eighteen graves have been found too, but Prof. Popov has said that funerals are expected to exceed 300.
