Lots of singing and dancing accompany for the tenth year in a row the Festival of Folk Costumes held in the small mountain town of Zheravna. Since its first edition hundreds of thousands of Bulgarians have gladly put on their folk costumes to join the festival together with their children and grandchildren. For them the festive clothing kept at the bottom granny’ wood-carved chest is not just a relic from the past and a continuation of the family memory, but a bridge to the future. Photo: BGNES
