Bulgaria loses to Netherlands in World Cup qualifier


Bulgaria’s national football team lost 1:3 to the Netherlands in a World Cup qualifier played in Amsterdam. Geogi Kostadinov scored the only goal for Bulgaria in the match. The Netherlands advanced to the third position in Group A. Bulgaria currently places fourth with 12 points.

In other matches in Group A, Sweden defeated Belarus 4:0 as guest and surprisingly France saw a goalless draw versus the group’s outsider Luxembourg.

Bulgaria’s next match is against France in Sofia in October.
