That was how Defense Minister Krasimir Karakachanov commented the recommendations voted by the Gripen Committee on partial restart of the procedure, worth EUR 750 mln. in its first part of the stage. Karakachanov assumed that one of the options was further negotiations with the three contest winners so far – the Swedish Gripens, the Italian Eurofighters, used, and the Portugal offer for secondhand US F-16s. The report recommends the American February offer for new planes to be taken into consideration. Karakachanov said that the financial frames for the repair of all the 15 MiG-29s by the Russian producer would be clear by mid-November.
