In his New Year address Bulgarian President Rumen Radev said that during the outgoing 2017 Bulgarians stayed together despite differences as they do share a common fate as a nation.
The head of state thanked everybody who strove for a better Bulgaria. He however noted that 2017 brought hopes but failed to mark a turning point, as truth, justice and rule of law remained unfulfilled expectations.
The year ahead will test Bulgarian democracy. Whether it will be good or bad is up to the common efforts for building a just, worthy and united society and this requires common sense, will and morality. Let us hope that in 2018 we will be as exigent to ourselves as to others, use our freedom wisely, become aware of the power of unity, overcome unbelief and fulfil the huge potential of the Bulgarian people, the president further said.
In conclusion of his New Year address Rumen Radev extended his best wishes for health, happiness, love and prosperity in all Bulgarian homes during 2018.
