Bulgarians buy more artificial Christmas trees

In the recent years sales of artificial Christmas trees in Bulgaria have grown significantly. On an annual basis about 240,000 such trees are sold in this country. However most of them are made at a small family company in the southern town of Rakovski. Its market share is 60% and the rest of sold quantities are imported from China, the Netherlands and Belgium. Making one artificial tree takes 40 minutes. Prices range from 4 to 175 euro, depending on the model and the height of the tree (80 to 420 cm). The company exports about 70% of its production and has stores in Bucharest, Budapest, Zagreb, Belgrade and Ljubljana. This year, a new line will be launched to produce branded balls and lighted decoration. The family business will close the cycle - from the Christmas tree to the decoration.
