Brexit does not necessarily mean cuts of funding to countries like Bulgaria

The Head of the European Commission Representation in Sofia Ognian Zlatev said in a televised interview that one of the important topics of the Bulgarian EU Presidency would be the financial framework for the next programming period.

In this regard it is important that Bulgaria and EU Budget Commissioner Guenther Oettinger could achieve the best balance during talks with EU Member States.

Great Britain leaving the EU does not necessarily mean that cohesion policy funding will be cut for countries like Bulgaria. The question is how this policy will be reformulated so that all Member States learn how to use funding from the EU budget more effectively, Ognian Zlatev said.
