A charity 36-hour treadmill run of ultramarathoner Krasimir Georgiev has managed to raise 8 000 euro in charities with the sum set to increase.

The money will be used to finance a training camp, airline tickets and accommodation of children who are going to take part in the World Children’s Winners’ Games due in Moscow – a competition for childhood cancer survivors.

Part of the amount was raised thanks to people who ran in a treadmill parallel to the one used by Georgiev, with each of them paying a fee to join the contest.

Running for 36 hours Georgiev covered a distance of 246 km with an average speed of 7 km/h. During those 36 hours he slept for only 23 minutes, had 3 breaks 15 min. each and stopped five times for 2 to 3 min.
