The electronic voting should be postponed, the Bulgarian Central Election Commission proposed. The recommendation comes after six e-voting simulations. According to the plans, the electronic voting has to be introduced by the European Parliament elections in 2019. Electronic voting is more convenient and reduces the risks related to invalidity of the vote, but meanwhile requires specific computer skills due to the additional steps that have to be made to ensure security of voting, CEC further announced. Besides, the risk for controlled vote during electronic voting is higher than voting with paper ballots, the Central Election Commission contends.
