Taking to the press Bulgarian President expressed expectations that during the EU-Turkey summit in Varna Bulgaria would not reduce its role to a host country.

The president went on to say that Prime Minister Boyko Borissov should put the question of the non-interference of Turkey in the domestic affairs, the election process and religious affairs of Bulgaria.

The head of state also hopes that the Bulgarian side will put the issue of compensations for Thracian refugees. “It is important for European leaders to understand that Bulgaria’s problems are also European problems and it is normal that we expect from them to uphold the Bulgarian interests”, the president pointed out.
