Exhibition “The First Gold. Ada Tepe: Europe’s Oldest Gold Mine” ranked world’s most popular antiquity show of 2017

The exhibition of the National Archaeological Institute with Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Science named The First Gold. Ada Tepe: Europe’s Oldest Gold Minewas ranked the world’s most popular antiquity show of 2017, the prestigiousArt Newspaper international journal announced. The ranking is based on the number of daily visits. The exposition with Bulgarian artefacts which tracks the development of metallurgy in the Bronze Age, the manufacture of golden and bronze items and their place in the life of the people who lived on the Bulgarian lands consists of 333 finds- golden jewelry, bronze tools and weapons, bronze ingots, etc. It was held at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna between March 7 and June 25, 2017 and attracted 213, 553 visitors. Thus, the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna placed ahead of prestigious museums such as the British Museum in London, Palazzo della Gran Guardia in Verona, Neues Museum in Berlin, etc.
