In the town of Strazhitsa near Veliko Tarnovo, the traditional days commemorating writer AngelKaraliychev/1902 - 1972/, who was born there, have started. To this day he remains one of the most favorite authors of children's stories and books. His creative journey lasted almost half a century. He began writing in 1923 and in 1925 his first book for children - "Mecho" was published. "We should follow Karaliychev's wish - to make our children happy and smiling", the vice-president of Bulgaria Iliyana Yotova said in her address to town residents. She attends the culmination of the Karaliychev days - the Carnival of Tales. It involved more than 20 groups of children from kindergartens and schools that presented their favorite characters from the writer's books. Iliana Yotova urged children to preserve the fairytale in their lives. "Let the sparkle of light that Karaliychev placed in your hearts with his wonderful words burn forever," the Vice President said.
