European leaders support Bulgaria position on migration pressure

All leaders of the European Union have hailed Bulgaria for its active work during its Presidency of the Council of EU on the topic of migration, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said in Brussels following a working meeting held there on migration and asylum convened by the European Commission.

The state and government leaders who took part in the meeting have asked the European Commission to estimate what budgetary funding could be relocated to the protection of the EU external borders.

Bulgaria is not going to accept back migrants who have passed via its territory on their way to West Europe, Boyko Borissov told the press. He said the EU countries would be able to share responsibility for migration only after the external borders become fully protected and operate under a system for deployment of border guards along them.
