Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova and representatives of local government and of the tourist and agricultural sectors have discussed at a roundtable in Bourgas a project for 12 wine and culinary destinations. This number is not accidental, and equals the number of months in a year. Destinations cover 50 municipalities and more than 100 tourist sites.
The project seeks to make Bulgaria a four-season destination for tourism and to attract tourists to the country’s interior. So far, holidaymakers mostly opt for seaside and skiing resorts.
Minister Nikolina Angelkova has said she expects 5 percent growth in tourists during the current summer season which suggests that Bulgaria is a sustainable destination for tourism.
