Excavations in the centre of the ancient settlement of Ratiaria, near Vidin in Northwestern Bulgaria continue.

The archaeological team says that this year’s dig has yielded almost 100 new finds. The buildings from Late Antiquity - the baths and the residence of the provincial governor from the time when Ratiaria was capital of Dacia Ripensis – have been revealed almost completely. There are multiple signs of fire and of a Hun invasion. Historians say that Ratiaria can easily be turned into a popular tourist destination.
