The protest was held with the slogan “Step down, face justice and the replacement of the system”.

Protesters gathered outside the building of parliament in Sofia and outside a few Bulgarian embassies abroad.

The protest is supported by more than 34,000 Bulgaria nationals who live abroad united in the Facebook group “Against the genocide of Borissov and all mafias that have ruled the country”.

According to the organizers the protest will go on for three days, and citizens from France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Great Britain and the Netherlands are travelling to join it.

On Wednesday Bulgarians will meet for a protest outside the offices of the European Commission in Brussels.
