The 4th edition of CineLibri 2018 kicked off with a thematic focus on love explored from all possible angles. Under the motto “Love between the lines”, the festival (10-24 October) presents 300 screenings of 46 films, with national premieres in Sofia and nine other Bulgarian towns.

For the first time this year the CineLibri programme features 11 Bulgarian films. Some of them are book-to-movie adaptations, others are inspired by the achievements of renowned actors, and two of the productions served as the basis for books, to be released in 2019. The contest programme includes 9 films, including the 8 Minute and 19 Second omnibus, inspired by Georgi Gospodinov’s collection of stories “And It’s All Made Moon”. It is the first Bulgarian production in the history of the festival, and will be competing for the award in the book-to-movie category. The foreign film productions include Albert Dupontel’s “See you up there” with 5 César awards, Eric Barbier’s “Promise at Dawn”, based on Romain Gary’s memoir, the American production based on the play by Anton Chekhov “The Seagull”, adapted by film director Michael Mayer.
