Violinists from 6 countries take part in Nedyalka Simeonova international contest in Haskovo (18 - 21 October)

Young violinists from Bulgaria, Serbia, Moldova, Russia, Turkey and China are taking part in the 43rd edition of the Music Days and the international competition for instrumentalists named after renowned Bulgarian violinist Nedyalka Simeonova.

Their performances will be evaluated by a 5-member international panel of judges. The programme features five concerts, Tsanislav Petkov, conductor of the Haskovo Chamber Orchestra said. The first concert will be by the Sofia Soloists chamber ensemble with conductor Plamen Jurov. The panel’s chair Prof. Angel Stankov will have a jubilee appearance as soloist to mark his 70th birthday. Svetlin Rusev, professor at the Higher National Conservatory for Music and Dance of Paris, will be preforming as soloist of the Haskovo Chamber Orchestra on the last day. Audiences will be given an opportunity to hear the authentic sound of a 1710 Stradivarius, the violin Prof. Rusev has been using for his performances around the world. Admission to the 4-day music festival in Haskovo is free.
