Bulgaria’s National Assembly ratifies Canada- European Union Strategic Partnership Agreement

Bulgaria’s National Assembly has ratified the Canada- European Union Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA). The document was signed at the EU-Canada summit on October 30, 2016 in Brussels and was approved by the European Parliament on February 15, 2017. The SPA lays out a strategic direction for stronger future relations and collaboration in the following fields: foreign policy, defense policy, counter-terrorism, the fight against organized crime, sustainable development, scientific research, culture and education.
