Bulgarian Kristian Doychev became European Karate Kyokushin Champion at the second KWU European Kyokushin Championship among men, women and veterans in Varna. The Bulagrian athlete won the gold medal in a difficult final against Gnel Aramyan (Russia) in the 85 kilogram category contest. Doychev defeated Aramyan in the two minute extra time after the referees drew the game. Kristian demonstrated excellent technical skills and strong will. Bulgaria also earned two silver and seven bronze medals at the KWU European Kyokushin Championship in Varna.
