Kristalina Georgieva takes over World Bank as interim President as of 1 February

World Bank CEO Kristalina Georgieva is taking over as interim President as of February 1.

Bulgaria's former European commissioner is assuming the post of president of one of the most influential international financial organizations temporarily. The reason is the surprise announcement that World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim will be stepping down from his position, even though his term is until 2022. The news, reported by Reuters has been confirmed by the World Bank
