One police officer per 300 people in Bulgaria: Eurostat

Eurostat data concerning the number of police officers in the countries of the EU in 2017 indicate that in Bulgaria there are 335 officers in uniform per 100,000 people, or one police officer per 300.

The average for the EU is one police officer per 314, placing Bulgaria in a position comparable to that in countries like Austria (333), France (326), Belgium (342) and Spain (360). The highest share of police officers per 100,000 people is in Cyprus - 573, followed by Malta - 505, Greece - 492 and Croatia - 490. Bottom of the list is Hungary with 90 police officers per 100,000.
