53% of all Bulgarian scientists are women: Eurostat

In five EU member states the majority of scientists and engineers are women, data of Eurostat from 2017 published on occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science show. Lithuania is 1st in the ranking. 57% of the scientists in this country are female. Bulgaria and Latvia place after Lithuania. 53% of the scientists in these two countries are women. Portugal is fourth where 51% of the scientists are women. Hungary and Luxembourg place at the bottom of the ranking. Only 25% of the scientists in these countries are female.
