800 square meters carrying nearly 400 mosaic fragments have been processed so far by the team working on the restoration and conservation of the floor mosaics of the Grand (Bishop’s) Basilica in Plovdiv. The overall area of the mosaics, which will be on display at the Basilica, is more than 2000 square meters. In January 2018 the mosaics of three ancient sites in Plovdiv were registered in UNESCO’s World Cultural Heritage list. Photos: BTA


A large exhibition marking the 110th birth anniversary of prominent Bulgarian painter Vassil Ivanov (1909-1975) is the accent in the programme of National Gallery “Dvoretsa” (the Palace) for the next two months. Until May 19 people in the capital city will be able to see over 90 works of one of the most specific Bulgarian artists.
