“Alice in jazzland” – for children aged 2 to 102

23 March is the date, and Studio No. 5 of the National Palace of Culture is the place for the second edition of “Alice in jazzland” – a musical show which had its successful premiere in January. 

As it says on the poster of the Saturday matinee, the show is for children aged 2 to 102. The show is directed by Vasilia Drebova, the scenography is by Elitsa Rozhich and the script – by Nevena Grigorova, who sends Lewis Carroll‘s Alice to the wonderland of music. There Alice meets different musical instruments and styles in jazz, and learns to sing and dance. She is helped by Metronome, the cat Dinah, Inspiration and the musicians from Jazztet with leader Ventzislav Blagoev, the man who created Jazz for Kids – a project that has been bringing children of all ages together for nine years, to give them an opportunity to improvise with renowned jazz musicians on one stage. The group also features Stanislav Arabadjiev– piano, Dimitar Blagoev – guitar, Vladimir Mihajlov – double bass, Stiu Ivanov – drums, and dancer Nikola Simeonov.

The show is taking place with the support of the National Culture Fund, the Debuts Programme and with the media partnership of the Bulgarian National Radio and Bulgarian National TV.
