Six year-old Lachezar Tomov from Burgas became the youngest gold medalist at the Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad. Lachezar won the gold in competition with over 1,500 participants from 21 countries. Thirty two young Bulgarian mathematicians from ten Bulgarian towns represented Bulgaria at this competition in Thailand and scored brilliant results. They won 6 cups-3 champion’s cups and 3 vice-champion’s cups, as well as 32 medals (22 gold medals, 7 silver medals and 3 bronze medals). Lachezar Tomov studies at the preschool group of Hans Christian Andersen kindergarten. So far he won 10 prestigious prizes in mathematical competitions.
