Angel Zaberski Jr. and his trio present a new album with a concert on April 18 in Hall 6 of the National Palace of Culture. Like Jazz – Volume 2 is the third joint album of the jazz pianist and his colleagues Stoyan Yankulov-Stundzhi (percussion) and Boris Taslev(double bass). The concert is called "A Little Bit of Night Music" - a title that recalls of one of Mozart’s works and of classical music in general. Of course, this is no accident. After Like Jazz 1, Mr. Zaberski has once again selected popular themes from beloved works from various periods.

“It is a nice title and will remain as a trademark because it clearly shows the direction,” Angel Zaberski says. “We use the words ’a little bit’ because there is always more to search for. Classical music is endless. According to me, this is music one can listen to after 20 p.m., which is when the concert in the National Palace of Culture starts. That is why it is ‘night music’ and it is also real music, according to me. Like Jazz –2 consists of my takes on very popular melodies. You can hear a theme from Tchaikovsky’s ‘Swan Lake’, Liszt’s – ‘Dream’, two very popular Chopin works, ‘O mio babbino caro’ – the famous aria from Gianni Schicchi by Puccini, Bach – Aria, Rachmaninov, Paganini, Brahms, etc. I am grateful to two fantastic musicians I have been working with for many years and they inspire me to continue in this direction. Stoyan Yankulov and Boris Taslev are musicians who perform in various genres. From them I get extraordinary support and I trust them a lot. I feel comfortable with them. On the one hand I use themes by great composers on which I transfer my harmonic and rhythmic vision. But in a sense this is also a kind of author’s work. I am sure that this music will be well accepted by audiences of different ages. My ambition was to present something that is pleasant to listen to. Does the album contain nostalgia for classical music? I will always have nostalgia for what I have started my career with. Maybe that's why I'm looking for ways to mix both styles. In the album, as well as in the concert version, there are many improvisations and interesting harmony – the nice jazz harmony that I have always loved. I can never perform a work in the same way twice. I am delighted to have some talent to improvise because improvisation gives me the freedom to create music right now.”
