Voter turnout in Bulgaria is lower in comparison to other EU countries

According to a Gallup International exit poll for the European Elections in Bulgaria, the average turnout at 17:00 hours in the country reached 24.7%. The agency points out that its data is quite similar to that of the CEC.

Unlike Bulgaria, in other EU countries where European Parliament elections are also being held today, turnout has been rising. In Hungary, for example, at 15:00 it was over 30%, while five years ago it was 19.5 percent. Similar developments have been observed in neighbouring Romania.
