Despite Bulgaria’s current budget surplus, the Treasury Department has held two extraordinary auctions for the sale of 10.5 and 20-year government securities. Bonds with maturity of 2029 and an annual interest rate of 0.5% cost over EUR 100 million, and those with maturity of 2039 and an annual interest rate of 1.5% cost over EUR 50 million.
