Trade unions and Ministry of Social Affairs reject idea of introducing special card for persons of Bulgarian origin

The Bulgarian trade unions, the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria rejected the idea of introducing a special card for persons of Bulgarian origin, different than the ID card. The proposal was discussed at the meeting of the National Tripartite Council. The main reason was that access to the labor market for people of Bulgarian origin is currently regulated by the Labor Migration Act. The purpose of IMRO's proposal for a special card was to facilitate the integration of people from Bulgarian communities abroad. The idea was backed by 4 out of five employers' organizations in this country that hope this would help overcome the labor force shortage in this country.
