Prime Minister Boyko Borissov held a meeting with the Foreign Minister of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Ayman Al Safadi, the government press service has announced.

During their meeting Boyko Borissov noted that Jordan was an important partner to Bulgaria in the region of the Middle East and North Africa. Central to their meeting was the Aqaba Process, launched by the King of Jordan Abdullah II in 2015 with the aim of consolidating international and regional cooperation against the threat of terrorism, radicalization and violent extremism.

PM Borissov emphasized that Bulgaria greatly appreciates the initiatives of the King of Jordan for combatting terrorism, with the Aqaba Process meetings as their pivotal element. The Bulgarian Prime Minister added that we are ready to consider possible forms of cooperation with the Aqaba Process within the frameworks of other formats such as the Southeast Europe Cooperation Process or the Berlin Process.

Borissov and Al Safadi also discussed ways to boost the development of trade, economic and investment relations, as well as the establishment of closer contacts between the business communities in the two countries.
