The 2019 European Heritage Days began in Bulgaria. The celebrations began with the Creative Touch exhibition dedicated to the 100th birth anniversary of celebrated Bulgarian writer Nikolay Haytov, author of historic novels and short stories dedicated to the Rhodopes region. The initiative belongs to the Council of Europe and the European Commission. The European Heritage Days has established itself as a pan-European event over the years. Each year over 20 million European citizens are involved in the event. In September, the municipal administrations in all Bulgarian districts will organize over 360 events united under the motto Arts and Entertainment.
