MPs and National Assembly staff are taking part in a blood drive to encourage more people to join blood donation initiatives.
The initiative is supported by the Bulgarian Red Cross and the National Center for Transfusion Hematology, and comes against the background of data, according to which Bulgaria occupies one of the bottom places in Europe in the number of volunteer blood donors. Every day more than 500 people in Bulgaria need blood transfusion. Only one quarter of blood donors give blood gratuitously.
