Bulgarian companies look for foreign buyers of their business

Lichtenstein can be hired for 70,000 US dollars per night, but smoking is banned and there are no fitness clubs in the country. One can hire a whole village in the Alps for 60,000 dollars a day and even change the name of the streets for the time of stay. Greece has put on sale for 25 billion euro some of its islands. Companies and countries do strange things to overcome the crisis.

The situation in Bulgaria is not much different. You can buy a dam for half a million euro or a hotel complex on the Black Sea coast for 16 million euro. A working factory for telecommunication equipment is looking for a buyer who could pay 1.5 million euro. The list is long but the reason is one – crisis. It continues for a fourth year and presses the business, which lacks financing. That is why a number of entrepreneurs try to sell their companies. This is sometimes the last opportunity to avoid bankruptcy. However, foreign investors are more interested exactly in bankrupt businesses.

Currently, there are a number of different companies on sale in this country. These are hotels, small factories, and restaurants. Construction was some of the hardest hit sectors of the economy and that is why there are many hotels on sale. Industry was also hit hard and textile and furniture factories can now be cheaply bought. Business buyers in Bulgaria are usually interested in offers that cost less than half a million euro.

Experts say that buyers of Bulgarian businesses very often are Russian businessmen. Russians buy hotels on the Black Sea coast and small factories. Their aim is an easier access to the EU market.

There are many entrepreneurs who look for buyers of their own businesses. The number of Bulgarian offers in foreign web sites for business buyers have tripled in recent years. There are also offers for photovoltaic parks and hydroelectric power plants, despite the fact production of green energy is a profitable business.
