The Programme 

On 8th of February Bulgaria marks a Day of National Mourning for the victims in the disastrous floods that swept Bulgaria’s southern region of Haskovo. There are 8 fatalities in the village of Biser that went underwater after a dam wall cracked under pressure from high waters. Severe winter conditions in Bulgaria continue.

In today’s program, we begin with a feature on how Bulgarian and German services have achieved a breakthrough in combating trafficking in women. This is followed by Protect your Heart Campaign, an initiative of the first heart patient organization in Bulgaria. Events and developments winds up with the plans of the Food Agency to begin checks of the production and distribution of food additives.

In our Ecology segment we look into the delayed migration of birds caused by the mild and late start of the winter. In an intriguing topic in the Tourism rubric find out about a Pliocene Park near the village of Dorkovo. Finally in today’s programme, we feature Venezia Karamanova, a renowned Bulgarian choir conductor and holder of the prestigious Golden Lyre Award.
